Would anyone like this? I'll document it if you like. [Linked Image]

wierd, its not working

the stars work and all and I think I put everything in. Where do you make the rank of yourself? In the profile?
Posted By: Sir Nikon Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 01/26/2000 2:17 AM
Yeah, it's open to those that only have the $MemberMinimum for posts. [Linked Image]

If you want to have the hack alone, just remove the $MemberStars area from the hack...

can admin's change their rank also? Cause I dont see it.

I think I found out the problem....I dont know anything about perl/cgi and Im an idiot [Linked Image]
Posted By: Sir Nikon Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 01/26/2000 6:38 AM
Like I said... it is open to those that have the member minimum in posts. If an admin doesn't have say 55 posts, then they can't pick a s specla st.

I installed your hack just like you said, and now I have the stars, but no rank. In your profile, you can save the custom rank, but in threads, under your name, the new rank doesn't appear.

Any idea what might be wrong?
Posted By: Snake Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 02/05/2000 3:16 AM
Well, I have an BIG problem using the hack..

Ok, I've installed it and all that, the stars work, BUT when I try to access my profile I get an server error.. And also nobody can register no more... What did I do wrong here...

I know the problem is in "ubbmisc.cgi" because when I uploaded the original everything worked, also the stars, but not the status change thing.... HELP!
Posted By: Sir Nikon Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 02/06/2000 6:01 PM
Hmm... did you upload ubbmisc.cgi in ASCII? CHMOD it 755? I dunno what could be wrong because I gave someone a URL to this and they got it working just fine...

I got the stars but the Custom Title didn't work. The field shows up in profiles but the title does not appear and when you go back to profiles, it is not there.

I'm using 5.41a

How could I allow people to have custom signtures, but make sure they're not too long or contain HMTL?

Just a thought [Linked Image]
Posted By: Sir Nikon Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 02/21/2000 2:08 PM
The hack already strips out HTML (see #Prepare CustomStat - prevent HTML, strip returns, do UBB Code), and makes use of the "cheap" limiter (just uses the maxlength variable of the input tag).

Ok guys I am trying to do this hack. I added all the code you have here. I have the Custom line appearing in my profile. I type in something and it does not appear in the messages. it is driving me nuts. I left out the star stuff at the end so I basiclay did not alter the ubb_library file in any way, but did all the rest. Was there something I had to modify in that section that had nothing to do with the stars?

I tired changing the [] number in various files and that di dnot do anything either. I also trie dupdating the forums. Nada.

Any help would be apprciated. This is my forst attempt at a hack. I just got this thing the other day
Posted By: cal Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 02/29/2000 11:23 AM
Since ubb_library2.pl is the file that generates the actual thread pages, you'll have to make some kind of modification to it.

Add this code, where Sir Nikon says:
Code
code:

I said screw it and added the code with the star hack. The stars work. Where my custom stat should be is the words custum stat.

Any Idea where I went wrong?
Posted By: Silverhawk Re: Custom Rank - User Definable - 03/01/2000 5:27 PM

u told us what code to add but not what code to put below..
