For some reason the code still doesn't work for me on 5.45c what happens is that when I go to a user profile in the cp and look at there settings I see able to post only has no, mega mod, admin and then on the admin side it says yes, no, but the thing is i'm only able to select mega mod, and thats it. I can't select no for the admin side like I used to be able to. Then i update the threads and ask a mod to try his powers on another forum and it says he doesn't have acess or rights something like that for what he is trying to do. Please help.

You most likely screwed up on the part where you find/replace the blocks of code that go:

That may get confusing, but to fix it all you will have to go back to your backup for this file, then redo the coding.

Um...just redo the coding. The options go like this:

Able to post notes?

•Yes
•No

To the right of that, it says:

Authorized Administrator?

•Admin
•Mega Mod
•No

Thats what it should look like. If it doesn't look like that, odds are you replaced the wrong bit of coding. Like I said, go back to your backup of cpanel4.cgi, then reinstall the cpanel4.cgi coding. That should fix it.

Ok got that piece of code to work no when I set them up as able to post and mega mod, and then have them try and post in any forum the message they get is: Sorry, but you do not have permission to post a topic.

Your registration request may not yet may have been approved by the Administrator or your posting privileges have been removed.

You may also be trying to post to a forum where you do not have permission to post.

Then after seeing this I go into the cp and look at there status and see that there status has change to unable to post and not a mega mod anymore? Any Ideas now?

That's wierd...either you made an error somewhere or it doesn't work in your version (which I strongly doubt). Multiple people have told me that it works just fine on their boards.

Everything else is working great for it, its a really cool mod, just was checking everything and it won't let a M. Mod delete a topic...

I don't think I missed anything, I've even added the ability for them to use the Sticky Threads, but can't get them to delete.. weird...

Not quite all...the biggest bug was if you set the moderators, the mega mods would go back down to moderators, making you re-set mega mods in user info and permissions. This was one of the MANY things I changed.

BIG UPDATE!!! There was a flaw that wouldn't let admins post announcements. I updated it to version 3.9 now, it is fixed. Redo all the announce.cgi coding if you are updating.

I seem to be having the same problem as klipsch is having. When trying to give someone Mega Mod status, it gives them Admin status but takes away their posting privelages.

I'm still interested in this hack.. question is, should I install the current version, or wait a few days until you have time to fix it more DT?

I can install it right now if you'd like me to help, and let you know what bugs I find..

Otherwise I'll just wait until you say it's stable..

Now that the announcement section has been fix, I don't see anything else wrong with this mod. It runs flawless on my board.

There is one big bug in it that I can see. It's a real simple one really.

Heres what happens: You can't take people off mod. It doens't update their profile to show it. You can't put people on mod. It doesn't update their profile to show that either.

If I take out the coding responsible for this, then whenever you set moderators it pops the mega moderator down to moderator.

*sigh* I need someone who's better than me at this stuff to look at it. I'll post the bits of coding responsible for this problem shortly.

Do you know if this hack works ok in Ubb 5.47?

Yes it should work.

Is there any updated version of this modification that would work on v6.05 ?

There is one for 6.01 but it has outdated since it was made when 6.01 was out and doesn't work on 6.05. (Bugs in it)

There's one for 6.1 beta 1. The beta 2 version is due out really soon. No bugs have been found so far with it.

I also get that prob, set them to megamod and check there profile after and there an admin . Hopefully a fix will come out soon
