ok i hace a chat room hack for you to try but you will have to go to http://www.hearme.com and get the code for the chat room to add to my hack as i can not give this code out what this hack will do is add a Chat Open link next to the fourm name if you have turned it on for that fourm this hack will also add a new field to the forum settings to turn chat rooms on and off go here to down load the hack

Nice hack....only thing is I can't get the text part working...voice works fine...anyone else with this problem? I am going to work on the script so you can have private chats in a private forum....let me know if anyone is interested in this..presently anyone can access the chat if it's in a private forum...

Anyone have a link of this working yet? Want to see what it looks like before diving in.

When it open voice should be on the right and text should be on the left and i know any one can get in to the chat room that is way i put it under beta i do have an IRC type chat room but most of the server will not let you run it it will hit the CPU very hard

Update: It all works now, but had to move the Changes room above the chat to make it all work... cgi would not take two sets of forms so this is the best fix yet...

Most of the load comes goes to hearme.com, Anyone can use, they just may need plugin, but the software will prompt you....

Yes it is MercAngel i was that here too but i but my e-mail in wrong and chould not get my password and if you got a blank windows did you go to HearMe.com and get the code for the chat room i did not put that in it is free but they ask that you do not give it out

Can someone modify this so when a user clicks on the link, a password check is done so non-registered people are kept out?

If this can be done, I'll install it in a minute!

I don't have it turned on cos it don't work when you click on it.....

I have this set up so ONLY registered users can access the chat...so far. It seems to be working, I have cleared my cookies and then came back to my UBB. Verified no cookie as PM does not recognize me. I click on chat and I get a page that tells me I have to register at the UBB. I did it like this:

Not the prettiest in the world, and maybe not the most secure...but it is the first TINY hack I've done ALL BY MYSELF!! Of course there are others who can make it better...I look forward to their comments!!

I did this hacked for a long time ago, but i didn't know that you guys like it, that's wh i didn't put post it here. My hack is totally different from this guy. It's combining the Logon System that i wrote and the hearme hack.

Here is My Version of the HearMe Voice/Text Chat Hack. I dont particularly care for McDevos. Mine adds a link to the chat in the UBB Menu, and Uses your Board Registered Username as your Chat nickname, Or it uses UBBGuest. It also opens into a nice little window with both voice and text chat. and a close window button.. Try this out, and let me know if you like it.

I take it.. that this does not work 545c??

I have tried both version of chat.. and it doesn't even display anything to click.. I know I haved added the code correctly because this is the 3rd time doing it..

I have a slight variant of Shadeaux's working fine on a linux server. I do know someone using the identical code on an NT box who cant get beyond the blank popup screen. Anyone thats having trouble using NT?

It should work with other versions with posible a little modification?

Anyway, If you cant get it working, I will be glad to edit the files for you.

As far as the NT thing, I dont run an NT server, so im afraid i cant offer any help on that.
