How can you keep up, and know "what's new" at a glance?

Don't worry... that's easy. The system here is set up to alert you to new posts and direct you to them.

First make sure you are logged in. If you are not a registered user and logged in, not only will you not see all the forums.. but post tracking won't be available to you.

When looking at a list of forums.. in the "Main Index" there will be a light bulb lit ([]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/newposts.gif[/]) if there are new posts or replies inside. There will also be a number to the right telling you how many new posts and/or replies inside. The forum will display an unlit light bulb ([]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/nonewposts.gif[/]) if there are no new posts or replies.

If you have collapsed a category, look for the ([]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/catexpand.gif[/]) symbol to change color if there are new posts in that category. If there are you can click the ([]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/catexpand.gif[/]) symbol to expand the category and see the forums inside. If you check out the "Legend" at the bottom of that page, it will show you what color the ([]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/images/catexpand.gif[/]) symbol will be when there are new posts.

Click into a forum with new posts.

Inside here...if there are new posts in a thread, or it's a new thread, the row should be highlighted in a special color. There will also be a number to the right telling you the number of new replies.
Scroll to the bottom of that page and look at the "Legend". That will show you the colors, specific to your theme that mark new posts.

IF the Lightbulbs / New Post Colors don't seem to be functioning correctly:
Sometimes those light bulbs etc can mis-beahave and not function correctly. This is usually a browser setting (cached pages) or cookie problem.

Now that you know what to look for, if they don't seem to be behaving correctly, then check that your browser isn't caching pages. If you continue to have trouble, try logging out, manually deleting the cookies from our site, and logging back in.
