Mod Name / Version: Alternative Poll Tracking 1.0

Description: This mod is for the following:

1) Admins who allow everyone (both registered and unregistered) to vote in polls (btw it won't affect the way in which registered users are tracked, which is by usernumber, if they are the only ones allowed to vote).

2) Admins who have users complaining that they can't vote because they share an IP number with one or more other users who use different computers.

Instead of tracking votes by IP number, this mod will now store a randomly generated & permanent number in a cookie (even if your forums are set to not use cookies).

Also, if a user doesn't allow cookies to be set then they won't be able to vote.

Note: As far as I can tell this works exactly as intended without any noticeable bugs, but if you find something not functioning correctly please let me know asap :-)

In IIP 6.5.1 I do not see the line you say to look for in step 3-B

I should mention that this was tested with IIP 5.3.1 which I currently still use btw (and edited my post/attachment above to clearly state this).

Newer versions will probably use different code, so if someone wishes to update this mod, then by all means feel free

I searched through pollpal.php and could not find anything even remotely close to that line.

I really can't add anything more as I don't use the newer IIP versions, and have no way to test any proposed changes.

It's definitely present in 5.3.1 - that much I can guarantee.

Someone would just have to figure out how to add the same functionality to the newer script.
