Hi!

Does anyone remember the Ultimate Guestbook? I found a copy of it and like the premise. I asked Infopop and they said "maybe in the future". I suggested that maybe they could add this to the UBB but who knows....

I am runnning a non profit for grads of the Army OCS (the bastards of the Officer corps :-) so I all my software is either free or really, really cheap. I would like to use the UGB to replace my paid for Mycomputer.com guestbook. That one has over 750 entries that in the future typing to the UBB would be greatly beneficial.

Eventually I would like to use the UBB as a portal for all my "community" type apps. Classifieds, postcards etc.

Any guesses on the UGB or ideas?

P.s. I found this board a while back but really just started going through it this week and WOW! You guys are awesome. I hope to learn more about modifying the UBB.

Thanks again,

Jason

as far as I know, Infopop stopped developing and supporting UGB a loooooong time ago. it is a "dead" freeware product and unsecure. You must not use v1.0 or v1.1. You can try other guestbook systems. There are lots of them. try www.hotscripts.com

Thanks!

Are you still in Istanbul? I was stationed in Izmir in 1998-99.

Beautiful country. I still help out the American FSC in Izmir by running www.izmirfsc.org

Thanks.

P.s. Why should I not use the v1.0 or v1.1?

The UGB is full of security holes - don't use it, don't install it.

MarkB is working on a rewrite.
