I once saw on a vBulletin forum that someone was able to pull news off alt.rec. type newsgroups and allow the members to post to the same newsgroups via UBB's forum. Any ideas?

the scripts used by them are pure perl, they could be ported to ubb without much fuss if you've got some time and perl/cgi knowledge.

Can you include this as a feature list in the UBBPortal? I don't know much about how newsgroup and PERL work so I can't exactly do this myself.
