Erm this has been suggested before but no one has actually posted it? I think me and many people would like to see an addon for Newspro and UBB6 which allows integration with each otehr, where people can reply to news on newspro on UBB6, sorta like KTalk

Use UBBNews. You can post your news via your forum and not need Newspro.

Erm... I got loads of articles set up already on Newspro... If there is a quick way to migrate all the news, and preserving the dates then yeah I'd do that...

Copy>Paste>Post I guess is the only good way.

:S

but just for anyone who has some spare time... I'm sure a Newspro/UBB6 integration addon will be highly accepted by the community...

Well I guess it's possible since they both use CGI.

Looking more carefully, I found a copy at the link above created earlier... but I can't seem to find the link to download it?

Also, I saw somewhere else whilst searching @ ubbdev that there was a problem of using too much IP code earlier? Can someone please post the Addon, but without the IP code, and ask users of UBB to simply paste it in from their own copy of UBB?

Opaque: the author never provided a download link when he posted the topic in the database, it might be best if your contact him directly via email or other means.

BTW, what version do you want this hack for?
Posted By: Opaque Re: Newspro/UBB6 Integration - 06/10/2002 9:31 AM
I'd really want a version of this addon for UBB 6.2/6.3 and Newspro 3.8... Thanks!

Well did anyone ever find a Newspro/UBB hack for 5.45? Because I've looked and mailed and couldn't find anything nor get response from anyone. Otherwise I'll just use SlashUBB I suppose... But since I already have Newspro running it'd be nice to just have an addon for it. (I never could get kTalk to run for some reason.)

It was never created from what I know.

You giving up that easily? Come on! Fight for the hack! Fight I tell you! tipsy

Newspro's new version is titled Coranto, and is so flexible (You can actually insert your own perl code) that a hack has to be possible, probably pretty easy in fact, best of all Coranto is going open source, it will be distributed on the 24th of this month.
