I got some more ideas for hacks! Tell me if any of these are good. Anyone feeling confident feel free to have a go at making them! (PS I didnt look at the Vbullentin hack list, honest

)

UBBQuiz
You could stage quizes that are in threads or something, and close after a certain amount of days, and the person who wins gets points added to their total or something. Admins and mods can select questions etc....

User Sets Moods when posting:
Obvious really.

Avatar List hack:
For people who are stuck on 56k and don't want every image to load in.

A store hack: (my fav idea)
(I copied this directly from the description)
This hack will place a whole new addition to your forum. You will get a store on your forum where members can buy actions wich they first have to deserve by posting good and by doing good on the forum. This hack is fun and great on the same time, it generates many new posts and new members and the most important: it add's something to your forum wich is fun to use. Members needs an amount of points to execute an action.
I can find more information about this if anyone wants to know as it does sounds good!

If no one isn't working on your Avatar List idea, I'll do the job...
just tell me what kind of a list?
A drop down list (combo box) with a javascript that shows the selected avatar in a box next to it (think I've seen that somewhere)?
Or maybe just a combo box which lists the available avatars and you rename every of them to have some descriptive names?

Quiz thing is a good idea.

Don't get the point of the store though.

And the mood hack, is that like karma? Because the Karma hack was brill in ubb5x.

Avatar Dropdown List v1.0a

I decided to try Lauras idea of UBBQuiz.
But then it hit me, i have no idea where to start.
Any pointers on where I can start? (my first hack)

In our beloved UBB.classic we have some nice polling options, which let us do pretty much what Laura described in her first post.
With the one exception that there are no points earned by answering, of course.
I'd probably go for something like:

Add an extra option to the Control Panel (Poll Options) for enabling "point system" (members earn themselves certain amount of points by answering the poll's questions)
You could make that pretty detailed, like implementing some score system (10 points for each question from 1 - 5, maybe 20 for questions - 10, etc).

Implement the code into the existing polling code.

I don't know, but maybe that will get you some ideas. :rolleyes:
