Noticed this over at Ars:

Google last night revealed their plans to offer Gmail service for third party mail servers. Currently in beta, the service will allow mail server operators to essentially hand the reigns over to Google's Gmail cluster.

Sounds like a good deal - 2gb of email space, a refined user interface, and free smile

This sounds quite interesting... I gave some thought to this with ugn a while ago for offering email services for users, but decided against it... I may do something with the .net for this though...

Microsoft at ideas.live.com also offers a similar service.

interesting.... sounds like both are decent alternatives for running email from your own site smile

I was accepted into the beta program for my personal site, waiting for mx records to update yay

Anyone here still using everyone.net? I may switch ubbdev to gmail if there's no serious issues with it smile

Well, I got approved today (like 5 minutes ago); I'm using UnderGroundNews.net for this test, seems pretty cool hehe...

It's interesting that you have to manually add people, but it's kinda relaxing since you don't have to worry about random spammer signing up hehe...

I'm waiting on the MX entry update; can't wait to start playing...

Well, I've been using this since above on my .net for quite a while, and had such succuess that I moved all of my mail to the services and I couldn't be happier... You know, 10 redundant servers sure beats my one...

I run Jabber for my .com/.net for undergroundnews, and on another as well... not hard to setup so long as you can create SRV records in your DNS wink...

Overall, a great, free, service smile
