I'm using google adsense in the footer of my threadspages, and I was just curious on how much other's get paid per click.I have around 7000 page impressions/day and a clickthrough rate of 0.1%

I only have 4-8 clicks per day, but each click pays $0,50-$1,00! This seems high to me...or is that normal ?
Last month...

98,049 Impressions
158 clicks.
.2% Click through rate
$54.96 Revenue

Averages
3,163 impressions
5 clicks
$1.77 per day

This is great it basically offsets my hosting fees.

327,685 Impressions
1,329 clicks.
.4% Click through rate
$208.28 Revenue

Averages
10,570 impressions
42 clicks
$6.72 per day

Can someone say, profit?
I made $3.00 last year, I was pretty proud of that! The only reason I keep it up is because it keeps them crawling my site for content.

Wow, that is per month

I seriously need to explore this potential revenue stream further I could be looking at almost my whole server bill being covered by adsense
I made $250 although I clicked on my own ads a few times, and my brother thought he was helping me out and clicking wheever he was online. They booted me.
Hi,

We did about 250K impressions during the first month (actually slightly less than 3 weeks) and made almost $100.
The CTR on our board is very low (0.14%), but on the site it is much better (3.35%).

As this pretty much pays for our bandwidth costs, I am quite happy with it.

There was some bitching when we introduced it (mainly because I stuck on the sidebar which I introduced at the same time), but it seems to be accepted now.

Sanuk!
that's what I would do, is a sidebar. Hmm, I might have to put a sidebar up first to break my users in slowly
Mine is way down below everything, I want it as non intrusive as possible.
my members have been a royal pain in my rear end as of late, so I want to be as intrusive as possible
LOL :lol:
I have mine load in the sidebar as the third thing, right below Quick Search and the WOL box. This way, it's always seen on pageload without the need for scrolling. On showflat, I have the sidebar disabled, so I show it in the area between the threads and the Quick Reply box. I figure it should get a lot of attention there.
Very good placement suggestions, thanks!
I am using the channels to track to see who is using more registered or unregister users.

I have the registered users ads in the footer (includes) and the unregisterd in the ubbt_unregisterdednav.tmpl I am trying to figure a way to omit the one in the footer include when they are not logged in. I have gotten emails from google because I have the add on the page twice...
Hi,

"On showflat, I have the sidebar disabled, so I show it in the area between the threads and the Quick Reply box. I figure it should get a lot of attention there."
Interesting idea, and might want to try that myself as well.
How do you switch of the sidebar on the showflat page?

Sanuk!

PS Love the avatar
in showflat.php up near the top by the require stuff put this line

$config['iip_call'] = 1;
Hi,

Thanks, will give that a shot over the weekend.

Sanuk!
As in the sidebar instructions....

Put
Code
$config['iip_call'] = 1;
after the require stuff in any php file that you wish to exclude the sidebar. Which avatar do you love?
Oopsie... didn't see page 2. Sorry!
Hi,

"As in the sidebar instructions..."

"Which avatar do you love?"
The one with the cat and the tennisball (?) on its head.
I bet it must have really like you doing that
I know my parents' cat would have shredded both my hands for trying

my original request may have been obscured...
try enclosing it in a statement as such as

<!-- <? //UBBTREMARK -->
<!-- echo <<<UBBTPRINT -->
With Modifications from <a href="https://ubbdev.com" target="_blank">ThreadsDev.com</a>
<!-- UBBTPRINT; -->

if ($user[U_Number]){
<!-- echo <<<UBBTPRINT -->
googleaddsense
<!-- UBBTPRINT; -->
}
<!-- echo <<<UBBTPRINT -->
Visit the <a href="http://www.ubbcentral.com" target="_blank">Infopop</a> Support Forums
<!-- UBBTPRINT; -->

you will have to play with above of course but you get what I am doing.
Didn't work.. It appears many tags don't work in the includes such as $tbopen/$tbclose

I tried to put it in the footer template but that didn't work either.
did you put the $user global in the send_footer() function?

I assumed ya did?

find in ubbt.inc.php

function send_footer() {

global $user, $configpal, $config, $theme, $thispath, $VERSION, $ubbt_lang, $tempstyle, $timea,$querycount,$zlib,$fheader,$Board,$mysqltime,$debug,$debugprint;

and make sure the $user global is there.

mine works as follows.. in footer.php I have..

<? //UBBTREMARK
// File Version 6.5b4
if ($user[U_Number]){
echo <<<UBBTPRINT

Nope still doesn't work if I have any php or ubbtprint stuff it won't show anything.
and you added $user to the globals? Hmm if ya wanr me to take a look let me know send me a PM.
Wow, thank you google Adsense!

I wish I would have done this a few years ago, the results are amazing. I am sometimes making over $30 per day, on average about $150 per week. Say goodbye to hosting fees out of my pocket
I am close to $100 per day
Sorry my fingers were too hopeful... I meant $100 per week.
I was going to say, 100/day, holy cow! The ThreadsDev party is on oceanwest's tab
I just got this cute little spiral notebook from Google it has 8 tips for increasing your revenue

Nice, thanks!
Attached is the Google Preview Tool, for IE only. What it does is allows you to preview all the sites that will display in your google ad, you can also launch them from the popup window and bypass the typical click through.

Save it as a .reg file on your local computer and then double click on it and run it. Then restart all instances of IE. Now there will be a new menu item in your shell called "Google AdSense Preview Tool".
I would like to place my Google adsense code within the 'forum instructions', but I only want the ads to show for unregistered user. How can I accomplish that ?

Thanks!
add them to ubbt_unregistered.tmpl

Hmmm, not a bad idea!

I tried it, but I think it's too much of an overkill right now. Fitting the ads within the forum instructions would be a much 'cleaner' solution.
Using Josh's meta mod, I added different meta tags, descriptions, titles, etc. for each seperate forum I had. This made the ads more specific to the content.

I'm currently making about 30 dollars per day from google adsense on 2500 unique visitors per day, and that is on one tall add on the right sidebar only. Soon, I'll be adding it to the other 8 sites that use my nursing forums and hopefully, can get that up to over 150 dollars per day.

This is in addition to my paid banner ads, and I only added it at the urging of another site owner who was doing so well. I'm glad I did!
Doesn't work as well for the UK - mind you I guess it also depends on the subject involved - all I ever seem to get is either Football (soccer) tickets or Forum Software LOL

I Installed it yesterday and made 10 dollars , so thats equat to 70 dollars a week, or 300 dollars a month. Not bad.

Question?

Is tehre a away to make the ads opens up a new page when the users click on them?
I like the idea to disable the sidebar in the post itself. How can I add teh google adsense on the below the navbar for the showflat?
[]salim said:Is tehre a away to make the ads opens up a new page when the users click on them? [/]

I asked the Google AdSense people that and they said no. I have tried playing with it in phpAdsNew but no luck. If someone figures out a way, it'd be much appreciated.
Got a question for you guys running this.
Does it continually display different adverts? mine seem to be the same a lot of the time.
Do you need to enable the frames option ?
Haha! Man! I had to dispute with Google once, but they saw my side of it and gave me another chance. There were a lot of clicks coming from me, like maybe a 100 or so. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating. Problem was, I logged onto a corporate network where I work, and did some of my AdSense mods from that network. Lo and behold, it's the same network whose public IP is the same for everyone that's on that network. I had to explain this to Google and they decided to reinstate my account. They were quite nice about it too.

So let me see if I can toss in my two cents here. February was when I launched The Article Project. It was actually when I learned PHP and I've come a long ways in two months. February I was making pennies, and then I got sick of it so I purchased like 2000 untargeted visitors from good-traffic.com. In addition, I earned over 2500 credits with TrafficSwarm (http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?331501), and I just got a notice from them today that my account was credited 1000 credits for notifying them of a possible cheater. They would've given me 10,000, but they already knew of the cheater, so they just gave me 1000 as a courtesy. Btw if you haven't guessed, these credits are redeemable for targeted visitors. I have now over 4000, thanks to TrafficSwarm, all free, and now I'm getting ready to go full strength on redemption of credits.

Ugh, where I WAS going with that was to say this; I increased my revenues by over 1200% from February to March, and I'm making perhaps 200% more this month (April). I just thought I'd first explain where I was getting all the visitors from.

I'm rather excited to see AdSense bring in some good income. I saw a promotional offer type thing on the Internet, and one guy made like over $4,000 in a single Friday. I emailed the guy in regards to the validty of the screenshot, cause I even copied the HTML and modified the source to make it look like I made over $2 million in a single day and I wanted to confirm that he didn't just do the same. Never got a reply back, so I figure he did and was trying to scam some people. But in terms of realistic income, I've made $30 within the past two months and I'm closin' in on that $100 minimum payout. However, I'm in need of some help determining the content's usefulness. Ugh! I think I just need to put out more articles, I dunno. But I've found heavy content to bring in the most revenues and I've seen my ad unit eCPM up to $126.00 in the past (on another occasion, it was $83.33), so the potential for making good money is out there. Last week was a great week for me because I made over $11.00 on Thursday! w00t w00t! Haha.

Well, all things must come to a close sooner or later. Just thought I'd share my story!
Just wanted to say that I joined Adsense in late March and for the month of April I made almost $1,400.00

This month I'm at about $400 in the first 10 days.

I don't totally know why it works, and something changed heavily last week, because my CTR has jumped and my impressions have taken a dive, but I'm still making decent money.

My top day was like $74.

Which site are you having those ads on?
Good question!
Can we see the site so we can see how you have your ads displayed?
what kind of traffic are you pushing?
I have just been invited into the optimisation program by google!
Will be intresting to see if they can boost my income or not!
Mine go up and down. Some days nothing, then other days $10-$15. But then my site is highly specialized and serves a small group, but still, last year I made enough to pay for my web hosting and some other goodies for the forums and myself. All in all, a pretty slick deal and I've had no complaints from anyone about them, even though they are at the very top of the pages.
