Anyone know when (days, weeks) 6.1 is scheduled to release?
Sometime between tomorrow and a few months from tomorrow.
Start guessing people! A cookie will go to whoever is the closest!
When its done, it'll be done.
When its released, people will start asking when will 6.2 be out.
When thats done, it'll be done.
When thats released, people will start asking do we really need messageboards in the years 2030? I mean, UBB was last updated to 6.1.9z only 3 years ago. This has got to be the end, people will never need more than 10 gigs of ram, or, UBB6.3.
2031 >> Well, who would have guessed it, RAM prices have dropped and the new standard in ram is now 1 terabyte....man, Billie Jean Gates the 2nd must feel stupid, his 20 year old mom(money-grabber) and 75 year old dad(cradle-snatched) must be very ashamed...
I not supid, I not silly, I tie knot in doggie's willie.
Ingore me, I am blatantly on 'something'...
I downloaded and installed 6.1 just last night.
And he did, too! I'm using it right at this very moment!
Stop it, you two are making me jealous.
I can not wait till 6.1 comes out, I have heard it is going to be great and have lots of features.
I know, but to brag like that
Can't wait guys!
6.1 will rock!
navaho, I like your new signature.
I guess whatever Capps and Nav are guessing
I think we're all praying for more features
The features that will be added will be done very carefully. There are lots of things on the todo list, and only a few of them have been selected for the 6.1.0 whiteboard.
You'll be pleasantly surprised by at least two of them.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need tog o prepare to murder you all, as I have said too much.
lol
That's good news
Hrm bearing in mind what Charles has said I'm changing my guess to 25th May followed by a 6.1b 3 days later
Do you use any kind of version control system/code repository. I'm currently setting one up on the ubbdev server for internal projects and i can't choose between Visual Source Safe (pricey, but built for windows), CVS (server is dodgy on windows - i've had no end of problems) or Perforce (Excellent but limited to 2 users without a license).
What does IP use and is it any good?
Just a thought
*cough*
Did you even start it yet, Capps?
*L*
That's completely true. I'm bored of installing modifications.
We use VSS in house, but as it is not reachable outside (as in from home) and since I have no great feelings of love or excitement for CVS we actually do it the old fashioned way. We have the files in a common repostitory. When I work on them a I make a copy, do my work, document every line I change and then Charles and I sit down, review my work and add it into the main source files.
It truly is a pain in the rear and we are really looking for a better way. So far we haven't found anything we really like.
This one may be too simplistic, but it's free, cgi/perl (can run on apache and mod_perl), and open source:
http://www.masonhq.com/ - it has a version control system that can be added.
In looking at their
http://www.masonhq.com/sites/ , it looks like it can do some good work...:)
