make sure your path is right (first line of a cgi/perl program) if u installed activestate on win32 for a server.

Um, you don't need a path...
Posted By: Charles Capps Re: ActiveState Perl 5.6.1.628 Released - 08/29/2001 12:28 AM
On Apache you do, unless you're using 1.3.20.

okay..umm..realising that my paths weren't correct all along (DOH!).. few more questions please smile

In win2k/xp, does perl need to be running as a service? (dont think so, but making sure)

How would I do permissions on the files?
The only options in win2k/xp are read-only, hidden, archive.
(btw, I foolishly ain't running NTFS if that does anything for perms)

ok, I went and read over the faqs and did pretty much everything right..but when I call the script from the browser, it returns error 403 smirk
so obviously I'm not doing something right lol

You need to set permissions within IIS...
I run an Apache personal server with Activestate perl on it, php, mysql, and some other stuff I use to dev on. It requires a path. k? tipsy

Nope, Perl doesn't run as a service.

You'll need to change your filesystem to NTFS for the "extended" permission settings.
But, it isn't required.
