This has been an ongoing discussion within our school. America seems to be under a hard deadly rush this summer.

This summer has been much more hotter than those of the past. The north east reached what? 100 degrees?! Down here in Texas we are used to this. What is horrible is that around 5 people from Texas died over the summer heatwave. Many of them talented sport players, talented band students and athletes. It's sad that these things happen this way. I myself have felt the need to pass out sometimes and one student from my marching band did. Dehydration and other symptons have been the main cause of this too. At our band, in dallas texas, we get about 1 break every 30 minutes and our breaks are about 2 minutes. I know I am not a big fan of it, but I am forced to do it. We aren't allowed to sit down either, so if we pass out.. We pass out.

Another sad topic of discussion is shark attacks. Florida is under a huge attack of shark attacks. What is it now? 3-4 in the last month?! I know I am not going to be swimming on the beaches of Florida anytime soon.

I don't really know how to express myself in this topic as the way I am wanting to, but what do you all think of this?

If you allow ANYONE to push you so far as to be in the position to kill you, you have failed yourself, not the other way around.

Sometimes it is hard to stand up and say "Hey, I need a break.", but I'd rather that that die.

As for shark attacks... ohh well. Stay outta the ocean, its their home.

Not wishing to sound insensitive, but lets face it, a lot of people die every year in all countries due to one reason or another..heatwaves are nothing new, they happen, and will continue to happen.
(btw, love the way you say: 'many of them...' there was only 5.. you mention 3 proficiencies.. hehe..n/m smile )

Sorry but wtf?
I know if I felt like **** , tired, dehydrated, weak etc, I wouldn't care if I wasn't 'allowed' to do take a small break to recuperate, whats more important?
Your health or some stupid school activity, which in your entire life, won't be that important.

Again, wowee.
**** happens all the time, the US has a large amount of deaths every year, people WILL die..it's foolish to get all depressed and worry about things you can do nothing about.
Death is a part of life, sometimes you die young, its sad, but what can you do?
You cannot avoid death, or cheat it, only enjoy those days that you have.

Sorry if I sound a bit harsh, but I really don't get what you expect to be said on this.

A heatwave? I haven't noticed. It's been the normal around here. Sure it gets up to 100 degrees sometimes, but it's always been that way here at least.
