I write all of my pages with textpad. Are there any HTML editors out there that are cheap (free) that don't add all kinds of crazy code like frontPage does? I'm so used to doing it longhand I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be with a real editor.

I assume from your context that you're asking for a free WYSIWYG editor?

EditPlus... I think it's at EditPlus.com, but I use notepad for everything, so I don't know how easy it is to use (but I know it doesn't add all the extra code)

I've used both Bluefish and Quanta . I decided to stick with Bluefish, at least for now, but both are great editors. And both are opensource (free).

Get 1stpage. It's the best. Ever. Hehe, I'm serious.

1stpage kicks butt, very nice editor. I still have a tendency to just type it all out though...

I use the expert mode, or whatever it's called, that lets you type out the raw HTML yourself

I prefer that over notepad because of the instant preview thing, lets me check up on it every so often to make sure it's showing up how it's supposed to.
