I just wanted to take a minute and thank everyone here for their patience and assistance... 
... My experience with UBB was limited to what existed in the CP of a board that someone else built and maintained... I became part of a group that set up a new board but I had nothing to do with the actual 'setting up'... then my patner bailed on me... and left me to take care of the entire board... the reluctant webmaster if there ever was one... My board (and yes, it is mine now) has only been up since January and I have been trying my best to make it a nice functional board...
