With the help of Trillian.
Ahh...Trillian is great. Very efficient. Makes me curious to know how many of ICQ users use voice chat utilities such as Battlecom, Roger Wilco, Game Voice or Teamspeak?
Trillian.
Also Game Voice occasionally to talk, actually talk! to friends from back east. G/V will not work with newer versions of MSN messenger since it's a discontinued product so I keep the old MSN installed for when I'm using G/V, and use Trillian for most of the time. I like having all of my communication programs all in one. Now, if I can only remember my old AIM name. I actually know the password, just can't remember the username.
Trillian is quite nice but can be annoying at times... If you have as many names as I do every so often it'll crap out lol...
lol...I did till they firewalled me
I turned my instant messengers off and uninstalled mIRC too. I have enough comm devices with e-mail and a cell phone. I dislike casual chatting with a passion, even on the phone.
I prefer each separate program
I registered an ICQ account for UBBDev, but honestly, if you can't get me on MSN, AIM or IRC then there's generally something wrong on my end... ICQ just hogs even more of my precious RAM
I have all (but trillian) installed but only use ICQ (sometimes)... I hate irc btw...

but since you prefer seperate chat utilities you may want to try ICQLite. You'll save a great amount of RAM.
I still use ICQ. I run Trillian to conserve precious RAM (even though I have 1GB)
< 256 meg in my monster of a laptop :x... Need to find a place to buy an upgrade though when I get the cash...
Trillian is nice, but every so often it has issues... at least they don't have bugs as often as they used to...

Thanks
I'll take all old UIN's under ::thinks:: 99999999 lol... I reged one for my mom the other night, friggen things got huge!
Seriously, hers is like 1,000,000,000's lol...
It's amazing how many accounts were created recently. What I find interesting is that most of these users do not use voice chat programs...It's free as well.
It sure beats paying the phone bill.
ICQ 5 was announced yesterday:

another way for someone to contact me
Why not, if your PM box is always full
The new one is nice, I can add my brother who uses aol a lot and prolly half my relatives, so that's pretty cool
It's a tossup for me between Proteus and Adium on the mac. Neither is near as good as Trillian. Both have different strenghts and weaknesses, but neither is as mature as Trillian. Given time, I'll bet they become pretty nice to use. It is nice to be able to have all, or most, of your IM clients all rolled into one, regardless which platform you are on. Gone are the days of AIM, ICQ, MSN, and Yahoo all being open in seperate mind and memory sucking programs.
Aol opens up IM - America Online Monday released a toolkit that would allow developers to create their own version of its popular instant messaging product.
- looks like trillian won't have to update daily to keep ahead of the AOL blockers now
Rofl, I love this... AOL closes TOC then makes people have to hack in to use the thing, then now they're opening a dev kit?
In any case, I use GAIM now, freeware trillian plus it's open source.
