Hey, i'm at the K-State Salina(KS) first game lan party(thingy). Games like Quake3, Counterstrike, Unreal Tournament 2k3 are going on. We had to bring our own computers to the campus, and mine right now is not up to par. I may have 448mb ram and a geforce 4, but my gateway motherboard and 550 mhz cpu is definitely slowing me down. :

I guess some of you 'quakers' might know the guy 'Fata1ity' guy. He's here dominiating ppl. But my roommate who is really good got a few good shots. I can run quake 3 at best on all high settings at like 40-50fps.

There's like 100 or so people here, and have had several power outages. Hoping it won't do it again before i finish here.

About to start back up again, tho this goes until 5am (ct). Dunno, could be here awhile.

As for a topic subject, do any of you play these type of games?

I get too addicted to games, I am still trying to extricate myself from that crashdown game I'd never stop a quake-type game, they just look too fun

I play games for pretty much most of my day, but I don't really play multiplayer games. I don't know why either (a slow broadband connection might have something to do with it; my bandwidth is used elsewhere), maybe I should try them again sometime...

I left about 3am, since it was getting pretty late. I did much better than i thought i would do. I didn't play Fata1ty, but nonetheless had fun.

It did introduce me to the rocket arena mod for q3a which is very good. At least i won a couple of matches. The last match i had i think was the best. It started out with me playing against bots for practice, thinking it was single player host. Man, i swear it was! All of the sudden people started joining, i'm like what the heck. Turned out to be both my roommates, and one of the guys in charge, 'dez' as he was called. (The map was dm17)

I hope they do it again sometime in the near future.

I went to my friend's LAN part before. Played Counter-Strike for hours. Lots of fun.

There is one near us that meets once a month, I've been twice.

The first time there were a lot of people and we playes bf1942 and the desert combat mod for hours and hours. It was a blast.

The second time wasn't as good, but still fun. It was the middle of July and there were only few people. I brought my new computer and it weighs a LOT more than my last. I learned two LAN lesons right there. Travel light and find out who is going.

I'm sure I'll go to more of them. With enough people there it's just so much fun!
