Some questions:

1. Is the Machine Type field in a one-to-one relationship with a user? If yes then the machine type can be stored in the w3t_users table.

2. Will you store that Machine type as a separate field or use one of the existing ones?

3. Will this new field be set once when the user signs up for the first time or you need it to be changeable by the profile.
