Well, actually I don't know the importance of this guy in the PHP community. The only PHP person I know is Rasmus Lerdorf It looks like he did some important stuff, but I'm not sure (for example) if he is comparable to Perl' s Jarkko Hietaniemi. Jarkko is an important person in the Perl community IMO.
Anyway, all sites have the same title "Lead Developer Quits PHP" and I thought it is important
