I'm wondering if .htaccess & .htpass can do this.

Ok, if i have something like http://vietmart.net/anonymous . My question is how could you make change to those .ht files to let the anonymous user to logon to his/her directory with ftp.vietmart.net/anonymous, and it's will bring the user straight into their /anonymous/ directory....without using my admin password/username.

Could anyone help me?

If you run your own server you should be able to choose the ftp client you use. There are several free programs out there that let you add as many usernames that you like. Some come with the option of setting the base dir and not allow them to go lower in the dir tree.

If you don't run your own server (remotely hosted) you would have to check with your host as to if they supply this as an option.

But as zandari said you cannot do it via .htaccess files

If you are on a *nix based server Proftp will chroot() an user into their directory.

If you are still stuck on WUftp (why?) the directions to chroot() a user are here.

If you are using a win 32 machine and are not using IIS you can use warftp, that will allow you to keep a user in his/her own directory. get the 1.6 series, the 1.7 series was a terrible pain to work with. Make sure you get the latest. download 1.65 and the update patch to 1.67 here.
