Hey,

In the event of a catastrophic ubb failiure what is the quickest, easiest way, or uploading an un-modded version of for example 5.47 and STILL keep the threads ????

I guess what I'm saying is that if (fingers crossed it won't) for example my UBB suddenly came to a sudden halt could I simply re-upload Ultimate.cgi UBB_library2.pl and library.pl forumdisplay.cgi, postings.cgi (obviously dependent on problem) and still maintain my posts and member#'s ????

I'm just wondering so I can be quick to fix anything if this ever were to occur (touch wood it hasn't happened yet)

All your forum, threads, and posts are keep on flat files. You can find these files at

$NonCGIURL/Forum$x/

If any of these flat files get messed up (Excluding the .threads and the .file files) then you have a problem

But other than that if one of the UBB CGI files for example went haywire simply restoring a backup of all cgi files in the ubb cgi-bin should suffice ???? and not affect the post and member count and status ????

Well it's unlikely one of the CGI files are going to do that. But if they did. Yes you could just upload a backup copy of it and it will be fine

If I were you, I'd only upload the files that were broken, because I tried that once and ended up reinstalling the whole UBB.. don't ask me what exactly I did, to this day I have no clue.
