okay i tried to use code something like this

#!/usr/bin/perl
open(TEST, "test.txt");
while($line = )
{
print $line;
}
close TEST;

but i keep getting a error!
y?
if thats not right, what do i have to do to make it work on the web?

start with changing
open(TEST, "test.txt");

to

open(TEST, "test.txt") or die $!;

to find if there is an error opening the file.
Then when you print, you need a content header printed out first.

Mark thanks, but your idea didnt work, im still comming up with that 500 error, and im using a win server with apache (i DO change the path to perl on the top to the real path of course)
could that be causing a problem?

and whats wrong with this?
im starting to think that this book i got isnt that good lol

#!/usr/bin/perl

print "Content-type: text/htmlnn";

($seconds, $minutes, $hours, $dayOfMonth, $month, $year, $dayOfWeek, $dayOfYear, $daylSavingTime) = localtime(time);

print $minutes;
print $hours;

what the hell???

It should work like:

#!/usr/bin/perl
open(TEST, "test.txt") or die $!;
print $_;
close (TEST) or die $!;
