I am pretty new to perl and cgi.pm over all. I was working with a script yesterday to see if I could get anywhere and I came up with this. I get a internal server error when i run it. Thanks in advance for any help. **Updated code, still not working** This message has been edited by Woody on December 28, 2000 at 10:46 PM

Works perfectly fine for me. Did you set your permissions?

CHMOD it to 755 or 777 whichever works for you. ------------------

Double check your permissions (755, not 777. .cgi files should never be 777). Make sure you uploaded in ascii (if you use cute_ftp that could be the problem...new versions are known to suck and not work correctly in ASCII mode. get ws_ftp), and make sure your perl path is right.
I just cut and past your code onto my server with no changes. Set the permissions and up it went.

I uploaded it with WS_FTP in ASCII. It is chmoded to 755. The path is currect. I still get the error. I am out of ideas with it now.

okay, on some servers, you can only execute perl scripts in one folder (usually called cgi-bin) and try to chmod the folder itself to 755, or 777 i dont think it really matters ------------------ check out my site at http://www.ultimategamers2000.com
