It's looooong overdue, but finally O'Reilly's Learning Perl has been rewritten and is coming out in volume 3. Release is scheduled for June.

This should be very significant. The book now covers through Perl 5.6

Details at http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/lperl3/

I very nearly bought camel3 yesterday - it's alot bigger than camel2. I'll probably upgrade all my books in the summer. Are sheep, lepeord or owl being updated? What about gecko?

I hope they get Camel 3 on Safari quickly.

Safari is great. Even if you do not subscribe, you can perform a search of all Oreilly books. The search results show context of the found matches. Somtimes that's enough to get the answer you need.

One book they really need to revise is the Flamingo . Excellent reference, but is outdated now.

The flamingo is outdated, but teh Rhino covers much of what it does now-a-days. Rhino 3 is an excellent resource (accompanied of course by salmon, hippo and koala).

Someone had forgotten 'Just a thought :)' laugh
I'm looking forward into becoming more advanced in perl programming, the problem is that I don't have ANY of O'reilly books except the pocket reference. Do I really need them to gain more experience? I hared that they're the best.
