I'm new to perl and just bought "The Llama Book" and I'm wondering what is a good perl editor. I don't like notepad (i'm sure you know i'm on a win32 system now) and was wondering what the pros or at least normal perl users are using. I want somethat that auto indents and may have some color coded "stuff" to help me along my way. Thanks in advance.

notepad.. noted works well too (it's the one I currently use for most of my Perl needs).. The thing that I like about noted is the line numbers; it's like the only thing that draws me to it Good for debugging stuff if your script returns an error on line 431

its ok but it just seems there has to be something out their that not only adds in line numbers but perhaps color coding or at least proper intenting. Microsoft visual c++ is a good example of this

Editplus is a very good program for what you want. If you need more (an IDE) then Perl Builder is the way to go.

Click the word "EditPlus" in my post above - it's an actual link to the download page.

Try a program called ConText I use it, it indents, colours etc.. Great free program!
I can't afford a good signature editor

I've been using TextPad. It's shareware but it's pretty efficient.
