In this thread there are a lot of theorys and suggestions on reducing bandwidth for UBB admins. I run my board on an IIS 5.0 server and haven't been able to get this hack to work. Can one of you elite CGI guru's run this for me and tell me what I may be missing? http://www.netwerkin.com/cgi-bin/perldiver.cgi

Oooops, that's on the test server, on the hosted server I just get the compilation error with no specifics.

Nope, the code is correct, and I double checked the modules. My hosting provider checked as well...
There is a perldiver link in the beginning of this thread that i'm asking someone with knowledge of thiss stuff to look at for me to tell me if something is missing.
Everyone of those errors above refers to lines of code that reference Who's online.

It was in the same place that the thread in the 6.1 beta forums said it should be.

It works on my test server, but on my hosted server I get this;
Software error: [Tue Oct 30 21:44:36 2001] e:inetpubwwwrootnetwerkincgi-binultimatebb.cgi: [Tue Oct 30 21:44:36 2001] e:inetpubwwwrootnetwerkincgi-binultimatebb.cgi: [Tue Oct 30 21:44:36 2001] e:inetpubwwwrootnetwerkincgi-binultimatebb.cgi: Can't locate loadable object for module Digest::MD5 in @INC (@INC contains: C:/Perl/lib C:/Perl/site/lib .) at C:/Perl/site/lib/Compress/cgi_buffer.pm line 22 BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at C:/Perl/site/lib/Compress/cgi_buffer.pm line 22.
I sent the hosting company the proper files and structure that made mine work. It isn't saying that the MD5 file is missing, is it looking for a "loadable object" in the MD5 file?

I ran PerlDiver again just now (the link is at the top of this thread) to my hosted server and it tells me that the Digest::MD5 is there.
Can one of you kind people run PerlDiver in that link and let me know if something looks out of whack?

I got it to work, and this might be useful info for people running a UBB on IIS.
I had to add a line to ultimatebb.cgi so now i have this...
#use strict; use lib qw(e:/inetpub/wwwroot/netwerkin/cgi-bin/modules); require Compress::cgi_buffer; import Compress::cgi_buffer $cgi_buffer::generate_etag = 0;
By adding the "use lib qw" I changed the @inc path and now it works great.

i had the same problem... with upgrading to 6.5
you can also copy MD5.pm from /cgi-bin/ubb/Modules/Digest/Perl to /cgi-bin/ubb/Modules/Digest/
that worked for me
