i'd like to start a new board with mysql engine, the board is vbulletin. i don't understand a thing of vbulletin. Do you have to edit a file when it's uploaded or do you chmod the files?upload php in ascii???
You must first edit the file in admin dir called config.php.new and save the altered file as config.php in that same dir, you would put the address to the mysql server in there, and user and password for it. You need to upload .php files in ACSII like cgi files, and there is no need to chmod....
