I just installed SlashUBB on my forums (5.45) and it is working properly. However, the page that I need to call it from is on a different server from slash.cgi. How can I make it work?

The URL calling the SSI will be
Code
code:
The absolute path of that page will be
Code
code:

The URL for SlashUBB is
Code
code:
[/url]
Its absolute path is
Code
code:

Any help would be much appreciated. I've not yet had any trouble with SSI until now.

Sorry, but does anybody have any idea? Even a flat no would be fine for me. ^_^

I'm really not sure about SSI across servers, I'll search around/ask some people, see if they know.

However, you could do this very easily in php.

Code
code:

just place that where you want it to show up, rename file to .php, should work

OK, Sally, thanks for checking around on that. I'd like to keep it in HTML, but if I have to change to PHP, I can do that too. ^_^

Rangers, you cannot use SSI for a different server, but you could use java. With Java, you could call any file anywhere in the world from any server. Even if it is not yours. I grab exchange rate info from the central bank of my country every day just the same way that SSI would do. And I give slashubb info from my site to many others. As it gets updated, everybody gets updated simultaneously.

SSI stands for server side include, so it should be obvious that you can only use it on your server.

If it was obvious to me, believe me, I wouldn't have wasted everybody's time asking. ^_^

I guess I'll just continue using my Newspro until I can find a host... thanks anyway.
