I would like to insert the UBBNews inside a .cgi file. I tried with no avail: print ".../ubb/cgi-bin/ubbnews.cgi?ns_id=5"; and even "document.write..." Is there a Javascript or preferably .cgi method?

Well to further explain I'm trying to print the news sessions inside "qq~". Since HTML is already generated there even if I were to do: print "../ubb/cgi-bin/ubbnews.cgi?ns_id=5"; that code will print out in raw code. I would like to figure out a way to extract "ns_id". All I know is Perl is crazy.

I feel the same way trying to figure out these codes/protocols. I'm sure the UBB Perl gurus will know because I sure don't?

Congrats...Although I think UBBDev had the heads up on your engagement before your fiance did. In the meantime I'll tinker with the codes...

Hey Brett. Thanks for replying. For some reason I'm not getting an output and it shows a "syntax error"? I changed the URL to the correct one. Here's what I have:

I wonder if I did something wrong?

whoops ok, i don't have ubbnews hack, i just checked the thread and the link is dead. But how to work it, in ubbnews.cgi; for the output, it'll need to be this "document.writeln(unescape('$output'));" being above like "$output =~ s/'/\'/;". Assuming ubbnews is setup like that. Or another way, would be to include similar code into the file and print it there. It would be easy, being opening the thread list and print the first 5 or however many you have. (*just a thought*)

Woah. The script actually uses the variable output. What's the chances in that? Try this out. replace 'print "$output";' with:

That should do it.

Hehe...If you don't mind you're going to have to humor me. Once I replace that code into ubbnews.cgi what script will I need to invoke it? I used the Javascript you made several posts above but that didn't work. I'm learning.

By the way. when I replaced that code I got this on the current output of the UBBNews: document.writeln(unescape(' That printed out. The end printed too: ')); ? ============================
