In Ultimate.cgi making the icon cells use 2nd color

Where in the Ultimate.cgi file would I find the code to make the cells where the icons go, (as in, new messages, or new messages icon), fill with the color of the second alternating color? I already have the code to make it fill with the color. But where is the code for that cell? Any help would be appreciated.
