Hmmm. Ok I'm not quite sure if this is the right forum, or if anyone will know what the hell I'm talking about.. confused but I've seen some forums where the page will load as www.whatever.com/forums instead of www.whatever.com/cgi-bin/ubb/Ultimate.cgi (or whatever)... how exactly is this done and more importantly does anyone know what I'm talking about?? laugh

I would have to guess that they have their UBB placed inside of a frame or a table. That page the frame or table is located at is the path: http://www.whatever.com/forums .

That's how it could be done. laugh

One more method is to use a redirector META tag in /forums/index.html that automatically redirects you to the Ultimate.cgi file.

Yet another method is to simply install your .CGI files into a "/forums" directory. Then use .HTACCESS and set the Index file of that directory to Ultimate.cgi. Then whenever a user goes to your.site/forums/, Ultimate.cgi will display. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact .HTACCESS code to do this, but I know it can be, and has been, done. If anyone is more familiar with .HTACCESS, you might see if they can help.

All you have to do is add the following line to your .htaccess file:

Code
code:

Or, whatever directory you have yours in.

Ok. I'm an idiot at this kinda stuff... hehe.. just one more quick question: where would you put the .htaccess file? In the main root directory? The Cgi directory where the Ubb files are? Or the actual 'forums' directory (where it would be the only file).. either way thank sooo much for helping me! laugh

You place the .htaccess where your Ultimate.cgi lies.
