Sorry about these "bone head" questions, but I want to integrate UBB into the design of my website
(http://www.redhotcurry.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi)

1. Is there a way of underlining hyperlinks universally? If not I want to underline the bit which says "my profile| register | search | faq | forum home". Also want to underline forum topics.

2. I want my UBB to appear in a table that is 620 pixels wide (body is 600 pixels flanked by a 10 pixel maroon border left & right). What is the best way to achieve this without resorting to frames?

3. The Last Post summaries are appearing in bold. How do I un-embolden these?

4. I want to remove Contact Us & Home. Can I do this?

5. Each individual forum has too much space taken up at the top of the page e.g. News Forum. Any suggestions on how I can squeeze it all up?

Any help is appreciated. Apologies if all of these have been answered before - I did do a trawl thru various posts.

TIA.

1. Go into the Style Templates cpanel, and find the Header Insert field, where there should be a stylesheet entry already. Change "none" to "underline" for all three a:whatever lines.

2. https://www.ubbdev.com/db/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=15&t=000001

3. That code will be somewhere in the template file public_forum_summary.pl. I don't have a regular copy of that file (mine's hacked up beyond all recognition), otherwise I'd tell you exactly where. Find the variables $last_subject and $last_author, and remove the bold tags from around them.

4. Those will be in the template public_common.pl. The variable is called $ContactLine. You can remove either just the variable, or the whole cell that it occupies, whichever works best for you.

5. You may want to take a look at my Compact Headers hack.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Skorpion. I've fixed problems 1, 3 & 4 via the UBBV6 Control Panel. Points 2 & 5 need more "work" - shame that it needs so much hacking to achieve the simplest of design layouts!
