I have three servers, I am pretty sure ssi works on all of them, and positive it works on one. For the life of me for at least a year since i found out about I cant get SSI to work on any of them, I use dreamweaver and even dloaded addons to dreamweaver for ssi, and still cant get it to work, ive tried html, shtml, shtml, htm all that stuff and cant get it to work right. Could someone help me out? maybe zip a demo set of files or something? Thanks?

Dreamweaver and all the addons in the world won't get SSI to work if the server's not configured right.

But actually, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying you can't get SSI working on the server you know supports it, or are you saying that you cannot get SSI working on the servers that might not support it?

If it's the latter, I can't help you.

I cant even get it to work on my server that I know supports it. Before the main page went down poofin.com had lots of ssi, and i have a subname provided by then, my cousin hosts it and says SSI is allowed.

SSI is a single line of code in a page. If the server supports SSI, it runs the command and prits the output to the file. There is nothing to do with dreamweaver.

What command do you use to run SSI? Maybe you are not using the correct code?
