Im talking about the very fine borders as you see on every ubb. i cant figure out how to get them as setting the border width at 1 just creates this horrible thick line and setting it at 0 just makes it invisible.

Where am i going wrong?

If you have a ubb version 5.46 or higher, I believe you can enable borders via the control panel. With that in mind, I'll tell you anyway.

to create a border like you see at ubbdev, you need to create tables that will contain the tables that already exist (nested tables).

Heres a very basic example.

I'd like to interject with something that may be relevant; that my borders also appeared inordinately thick to me until I made them a color close to my background color. Orange on black looked thicker than 1 pixel, while dark grey made them look thin like the dark blue ones right here.

Just a thought. Oh wait that's somebody else's line.
