If you go to www.deskmod.com and look down at the bottom, it says "DeskMod was rendered in XXX seconds."

That specific one was done in PHP. But I'm looking for a way to do this with UBB pages. So I don't think PHP is appropriate. (If PHP will work tho, please transfer this topic accordingly. :)) So I'm wanting to use Javascript.

My guess is, have a variable at the very beginning of the page source that records the time, then have a second variable at the very end of the page that does the same thing. Subtract VarA from VarB to get TimeC, and report. But since I know next to nothing about Javascript, I have no clue whether that is even practical, let alone possible. So can anyone offer some insight as to if that's possible, how to do it, etc.?

Thanks so much!

This can be done in JS, but being the "scripting master" that I am, I wouldn't know where to start. Your best bet would be to check through all the popular JS archives out there. Website Abstraction would be the first place that I'd look...

Alright, thanks Matt. smile

Didn't see it on there or on several other of the js archives that I know about (which, admittedly, isn't really very many), so I posted on their forums. Interesting how they have a vBulletin link on the bottom of their UBB... weird... anyway, hopefully someone there can help me. smile

Thanks again.

EDIT: w00t! A guy there hooked me up with how to do it. It works! I'm so happy! laugh

for anyone else that wants it here is my post from the WA board... :D:D:D
Place this at the top of the page right below the tag...
Code
code:

And then place this right above the tag...
Code
code:

That will put the load time in the status bar... laugh

[edit]changed to "code view", added script type definition to make code valid.[/edit]
