hey i wanted to know if anyone knows how to write a javascript for the ubb, where if your like on a non ubb page, it shows if your logged into ubb or not? or something similar? i tried but i couldnt get it to work even if i was logged in, it would still show "Login, Register"

This would be more of a modification to the UBB, and, I am pretty sure that it would be loads easier with cgi/perl. You could probably patch together something that works for you from various modificatiosn like Who's Online..
edit : have to get used to saying 'modification' instead of hack.

i'm leaning towards js, because that would probably be the simplest way to read the cookie data.

Actually it's a little of both. The only thing that UBB stores is the username and password. That info is sent on to a server-side CGI which does all of the other work. You'd eventually have to talk with the server in order to do what you want.

so thats one vote for perl/cgi, one for js, one for in the middle. yet his problem still ain't solved

actually i have solved it and i used javascript...now i have two fields (username and password) on a non ubb page and when they enter it and click submit it loggs them into my ubb and if they are still logged into ubb (still have the cookie) but not on a ubb page it shows there username and a like to their profile...i figured it after a couple of hours of testing....

Yo i find the solution replace : by on all files (ubbmisc.cgi, posting.cgi etc ...) after write a little script in perl whith this sub : Enjoy
