I need to edit .class, .cgi, .pl, and other such files....what's the best free program I can get?

hmmm... class files are binary java files as i know... you can not open/edit them with text editors...

you can use ultraedit or some html editors. 1st page for example

(i dont remember the addresses now)

You cannot edit binary .class files as they are compiled programs, unless you want to hex edit them using a hex editor.


I can't afford a good signature editor frown

I have found HTML-Kit/Tidy (free) to be the most sophisticated and powerful HTML/XHTML/CSS Editor I have encountered. Among its many features it provides for incorporation of multiple Browsers for instantaneous offline or online testing of pages. I have devoted a page to its function and use -- with a download link -- on my "Tools for Web page Authors" mini-site.
