Ive been trying to save a picture by just changing the extension to .gif. Is this possable?
Im new to flash.

if you mean like chaning a .jpg file to .gif then no, u have to convert it with a program like photoshop. If you need help i'll be glad to help.

You may change the extention of flash to .gif, .jpg, or whatever you want. You still must use the flash coding to publish. Your browser will know its a flash regardless of the extension. I use this technique to secure my flash from being stolen, as it works great when people try to search thier cache and cant find the flash file. But if your trying to just change the ext and post as an image then no.

He UnionWorker ... You probably found the answer already a long time but you can easily save a picture of your fla file with the export image option ...
You can choose from any possible image format ... from eps to bmp via jpg and gif ...
FILE >> Export Image
