Is there any way to port UBB to flash? Has anyone tried this? I think it would definetly be the ultimate bb if it was in flash.

There's a few ways to do this but the end result wouldn't be anything that resembled a UBB anymore lol. Flash 5 can be ported to XML, and XML can be the middleman for almost any data wharehousing system such as ASP, MYSQL, SQL 7, SQL2000, Access 97, 2000. You can also do it with swift (a hacked up Macromedia Generator) but Generator will port directly to CGI in the background and pull all content and varibles and disply them in the flash movies in a dynamic way.
But!! if your not getting paid MUCHO! money I wouldnt even waist my time, because by the time you finish it NEXT YEAR, there will be a program that does it in 10 minutes. But the plus side with doing it with generator would be the minimal download time, it would almost stream so there would be no pauses. But if I would do it it would be with generator anything else would be pointless.

Surely all you really need to do is create movies to take the place of the current HTML interfaces? It wouldn't be too hard at all, even in Flash 4 to have a perl script pass variables back and forth through a loop... why you'd want to do it is anybodies guess tho...

just tu put some light on the millenium flash board have not been done with ubb it have been programmed by Mike the head programmer of x-pressive and the only one its a flash interface driven by somes perl script but ubb have nothing to do it this project....many people want it so Mike build it...it would be possible to add a flash interface to ubb but you better buy tons of coffe cause its not finish and this gone take age to load cause you have to do many little movies...but maybe if you preload all the movies before its could be real cool wish you best luck
