i can't seem to remove the spaces between them

i tried editing public_topic_page.pl and removing all the spaces between where the graphics are inserted, but for some odd reason it only removes the space between the edit and quote buttons... even though there is no space at all between the other buttons in the template, it still inserts them into the thread...

i cleared the cache numerous times, i've tried everything..

does somebody know why this isn't working? or how to do it?

i forgot to add, that i've sucessfully removed the spaces between the next and previous topic buttons, and the admin function buttons at the bottom of the thread... but for some reason it won't work for the email,homepage etc. buttons

Those buttons are created in ubb_lib_postings.cgi. I'm pretty sure a couple of them have spaces built into them from that file. Try that, see if it works.
