Compact Headers is a hack for your actual UBB.

Headers & Footers via SSI is an entirely different hack for your UBB.

They're two completely different things. And as the name implies, you have to have SSI. There is no non-ssi option. Sorry.

OK, let me explain this again... IT HAS TO USE SSI!!! I'm not just saying that cuz I'm lazy and don't want to do it for you (though I am lazy and don't want to do it for you). You could easily just copy the table layout and put that markup into your HTML page. There you go. But you won't get the login/logout line. If you want the Login/Logout thing like you seemed to last night, you MUST use SSI.

Short of making your own CGI program that works in conjunction with UBB and using that as your index file (which I guarantee would be a lot more complicated), there is no way to do it without SSI.

I know I can get the table layout to my HTML page. Thanks I'll try to write up the CGI script.
