Ok, here is something I would like to do, I would like to have multiple layouts for my pages. So for instance My News Forum would have like a news page layout, and my discussion pages would be the default layout. Is it possible to point a specific forum to a different version of "public_topic_page.pl". That way I think I can pull off 2 layouts? Any help would be much appreciated.

I am currently working on this for a site I'm developing. The whole project is rather under wraps right now, so I can't go into detail. But I'll let you know once I get closer to release.

well can I email you for tips? I really need this done for my site. Can the logic be hardcoded into the section that pulls the template for display.

So like :

if (ForumNumber=3){
Template==pulic_topic_page2.pl
} else {
Template==pulic_topic_page.pl
}

What file calls the template?

That's basically it........ (since you guessed it, I won't tell you no... ;))

Um, I'm pretty sure it's in ubb_forums.cgi.

There will be a Require statement a little ways into the file... just a quick if/then/else statement that wraps around the Requires line to pick which template file actually gets called.

Hey Skorpion, you wouldnt be trying to do a news display hack would ya?

Whould this be able to work with oh... I don't know... 270... diffrent... boards?

Rodster: hehe, um, why ever would you ask that? News display and actually something else, too.......

Gruler: If you've got the time to program them all into there, I would suppose it would work for however many you need it to. I have no clue what impact doing this has on the speed of the board, though... so if there is any speed drawbacks, having this done for 270 different boards would almost definitely make it noticeable (unbearable?).
