I want to use a forum for news on my homepage.
I was thinking, if I create a new forum on my boards, then make it so only MODs and Admins can post to the forum. Then, tie this to my homepage as a server side include. Well, I would be able to add news headlines from a web login, and allow my mods to add in news as well.

The thing is, I do not want all of the page boarders, and ads that are on the forums, etc. I just want the posts made, with the members name who posted it. No edit, delete, etc buttons.

You can use one of the ubbnews modifications found in the forums for your version.
