How can I Bump a particular message back to the top of the forum, rather than having to keep typing "top" for example?

The "sticky threads" mod by dave downin used to do that for v5 ubb's, not sure if it will be updated for v6.

Its very useful to have, and since moderators cant make announcements it could be very handy to have in ubb6. I found with my old board that its a feature not many people think of but if its installed they like it and use it

.......actually, with the new format of the froum_#.threads file, floating threads can be done quite easily...

The new .threads file format is just a hash.
It should be VERY simple to just create another hash to be stored within the file and recalled when required. This will allow very easy storage of additional data. (A similar method can/will be used for the pageview counter, I suppose)
