...UBB 6 overwrites the old file! Right now it's overwriting the number 0000003.cgi file, the next time someone registers it will overwrite the 0000004.cgi file! How do i keep it from doing this?

You probably had some type of User Text hack installed, huh?
Well, UBB v6.0 doesn't let you fix "corrupted" old Member files..
So your going to have to tell the UBB to start at the latest member.
Go into your Members Directory and open "last_number.cgi". Fix that to the last User # that registered. Do the same to "membertotal.cgi".
That should fix the problem!

Travis, if I read your message right I think you're using "old files" to refer to the member records that were in use before you upgraded to V6.0, and not corrupted records in the OldMembers folder, right? Make sure you didn't overwrite memberlist.cgi and membertotal.cgi during the upgrade process.

I know I uploaded the PM files in ASCII as I usually have my FTP Program set at that, and I always check it when i upload files especially for the cgi bin, I tried BulbaGarden's idea, but have yet to test it. I know my member files aren't corrupted, as I upgraded them from 5.46 and used Copycat's script to get rid of hacks from 5.46. I may have actually, but I replaced it to start at 62 or somewhere around there...
