Hello. Can someone explain to me what ModPerl is and what advantages does it have over the normal Perl? Is it available on VirtualAve servers? Also, will there be a section in the Database JUST for the v6.0 MODs, or will they be together with the old ones?

And how long do you expect until most of the MODs from the v5 UBB becomes working the UBB 6?

Can someone explain to me what ModPerl is and what advantages does it have over the normal Perl?
ModPerl (or PerlEx on WinNT IIS servers) embeds the Perl interpreter right into the Web server so that it'll handle Perl scripts faster. Normally a Web Server has to fork a process to process a Perl page/script; with ModPerl it becomes second nature and therefor it's faster (at the cost of RAM on the server).

Is it available on VirtualAve servers?
Nope. It's usually available on dedicated servers or speciailized shared hosts.

Also, will there be a section in the Database JUST for the v6.0 MODs, or will they be together with the old ones?

Varies. Check back every day as the UBB Code Hacking community is not extremely active hacking away at the code
