After I upgrade my UBB from UBB 5 to UBB 6 I got this error message when I try to modify something in my CP:
Software error: Can't modify subtraction in local at /web/sites/16/the1st12kill/www.rutto.f2s.com/cgi-bin/cp_forums.cgi line 192, near ");" BEGIN not safe after errors--compilation aborted at /web/sites/16/the1st12kill/www.rutto.f2s.com/cgi-bin/cp_forums.cgi line 916.
Any suggestion ? Thanks Rutto

well, I thought I had the answer.. i went back and tested my own forum and realized that updating the forum settings caused this error. it has to do with the last post by in forum listings hack. As this is THE ONLY hack I have installed. anyone?

ok..here's what I did. At first I downloaded and used Infopops set of upgrade files and then modified the code with the last post code. With this i recieved software errors. I uploaded a complete and fresh version of the UBB. Then modified the board and i receive no software errors now. Mind you, if you upload a fresh one, do not upload any variable files except the 6 wordlet files.(I say that just incase.)

This problem was in the first final release of UBB6.
Re-download the zip, and upload it. That will fix your problem.

Hi Funky Monkey:
I assume that the 3/22 release of UBB6.01 was fixed? The reason I ask is that yesterday I tried my first hack,"Preveiw," (see "Kerry" post) and I'm getting an error. I re-did the whole hack again last night and still the same error. I copy-pasted each of the hack lines to make sure I didn't miss anything.
My UBB6.01 was working OK and all settings reset before I attempted the hack.

Any suggestions?

whenever you replace the text (or add it for that matter) make sure everything is being replaced correctly.
i.e., no old code from the line you're replacing, or making sure it pasted the whole line.
This was a problem for me when I first started installing hacks too.

Ok, after a lot of test I solved my problem. The problem is caused by a bugged UBB version, I solve this problem updating the board to UBB 6.01 (all the files not only the changed but not the variables).
Bye Rutto
