Ok, what does this error mean "Maybe you didn't strip carriage returns after a network transfer?"
And what does chmod mean?
My siggy's too big for here. Dang it, grow bigger sigs people so I don't look so strange!

chmod is a command available in ftp browsers (and on any unix type computer) which allows you to control how you want files to be accessed.
No carriage returns (thing ma jig) refers to the fact that you never uploaded a file in ASCII mode. Browsers are only capable of binary mode so YOU MUST use FTP to ASCII upload or unzip/untarball directly on the server.
