Jim,

I installed the login.cgi (7.00 on my 6.04 system) and it seems to work ok, but I have a few problems.

=======

If a new member tries to register, it will not let them.

I am executing this:

New Member

I am receiving this from UBB:

Hello, New Member [ log out ]
Sorry, we have no one registered with that name. Use your browser's back button to try again.
» Please use your browser's back button to return.

===========

for some reason, it seems as if it is trying to log in to the BBS as New User, instead of actually going to the UBB registration page..

any ideas?

=====
btw, it does bring up the little screen for 3 seconds, that says:

Processing New Member registration, welcome in ...

Please note: All login/logout activity is logged...

====
then it goes to the "we have no one registered..." screen....

===============

I also have another problem as well, probably as a result of the previous problem.

If I log in (admin), it lets me in, but it shows me as New Member on UBB. I checked the member listing, and it didn't change that the actual CGI file, but the board says, welcome back new member, and then goes to ubb. Inside UBB, every action i do is recorded as New Member.

Also, every time other existing members (not admins) attempt to log in to the board, it says "processing invalid login" and kicks them out.

=========

Finally, I am having a problem with the active topics hack and LOGIN.CGI.

If I am not logged in, It shows a small window with a copy of the website in it. Once I am logged in ok, it appears to go back to normal and displays the headline view active topics as it is supposed to. I am wondering if that is a result of turning "Members Must Log In Before Access" on in my UBB General Display Settings.

If so, is there a way to fix that so people who aren't logged in can still see the active topics?

=============

I am not sure what I did, or whats up, but something is definately wong with my board =).

eek confused

Last word I heard from Jim is that LOGIN.CGI is not compatible w/ UBB 6.03+.

He's working on a fix (check the Finished Forum).

Next time, please post in Mod Questions/Answers. Thanks.
